As we announced the next play was about a slimming club, there were a few raised eye brows amongst the female members of the society. Were we sending a message, a suggestion for a New Years resolution. No. It was the announcement of the very funny and poignant play by Vanessa Brooks and The Centralian Players latest production.

Remember Girls, Not slim for today. Not slim for tomorrow. But Slim for life.

Siobhan has been there. That extra potato, that extra little treat to brighten a dull day, the guilt and fear of stepping on the scales. But she is achiever of the year 1994 and has come to share her experience in slimming, and life, for the greater good.

Her hopeful new recruits are inspired from flab to fab, in the Slim for Life slimming club.

The five stages, Commitment, discipline, Sacrifice, Realisation and Salvation - form the key to a new life and a new you. But the determination to succeed comes at a price, and one not everyone is willing to pay. When temptation rises and motivation wanes, the edges begin to unravel in the face of autocratic rule.

Just how much is the price, and is it worth paying?

As well as regular Centralians such as Wendy Read, Diane Booth, Jayne Dugan, Rachel Gentleman, Sharon Gardner, Louise Sutton we are very pleased to present the debut performance of Jenny Nichols.
